The Mules: The Fly magazine review of 'Save Your Face'.
Aug 29, 2006
Whether The Mules met in a public toilet or not, their debut is spunky and gritty enough to make you believe anything. From the second this album starts, the hairs on the back of your neck stand up - partly in fear, part exhilaration. The noise unleashed in this ramshackle ride of an album is relentless in its energy. 'Polly-O' and 'Here to Help' are so marvellous, they'll make you want to invert your skin, or climb into the stereo. For that alone, this is a brilliant LP from the Oxford collective.
