| Save your Face is a 38 minute whirlwind of genre crashing, boundary bashing songs that are more than merely one whole album, instead each track is it’s own little island of charm. Imagine taking the two minute song ideals of The Ramones and soaking them in a lucky dip of influences that takes in everything from rockabilly to doo wop, by way of jazz and folk while robust and raucous jack-knife guitars accompany clattering drums.
Unafraid of experimentation, they embody a sound that is so ‘now’ it hurts, whilst branching out in endless directions ensuring an individuality and timelessness that is practically unique today. It’s a racket, it’s confusing and at times it’s a little intimidating, but it’s ultimately a basket of brisk, danceable tunes. It’ll take more than one listen to absorb, but playing it more than once will be a pleasure.
