Country-punking as might have been attempted by Xtc, if you’d slipped them sufficient mandies. I like this, but let’s be clear, I’m a gullible idiot and people yelping shit about airports that I agree with are people shooting fish in a barrel. What is beyond doubt is the woozy and unsettling way they use a piano on the ‘Here To Help’ a-side and the machine gun violence they hammer the keyboard with on ‘The Devil & The Ploughman b-side that makes the Who’s ‘5.15’ look like a post sermon throwaway. Brilliant.
