Peculiar, intriguing offering from musically and lyrically hyperactive outfit from Oxford. Here To Help has a backdrop suggesting an attempt to recreate the herky-jerky new wave of Devo or Pere Ubu with instruments borrowed from a hillbilly jug band, and singing drummer Ed Seed possesses a manic delivery agreeably evocative of Sparks and/or Band Of Holy Joy. Too much of this could become annoying, but in this short, sharp measure, the Mules - drum roll, maestro - kick ass. Thanks, you're too kind. I'll be here all week. Try the veal.
