Organ Grinder Press - interviews and reviews
The Mules: Sounds XP webzine review of 'Polly-O/Misprint' 7".
Jan 13, 2006 |
| They call it “electrobilly”, a mutant strain of country music that fuses rockabilly and punk rock electric guitars and forces your reluctant bones to thrash frantically on the dancefloor. They’re kissing cousins of C-86’s Stump and Bogshed, with their hyperventilating vocals, stuttering drum rhythms, scratchy guitars and discordant piano, until the sun comes out with a glorious melody of a chorus. It’s outrageous, jittery p-p-p-pop which is fiercely alive. ‘Misprint’is something else, full of edgy postpunk shapes and bastardised 80s dance rhythms, like an over-medicated Talking Heads. The only word for the band is invigorating.
