We are delighted to inform you that Fireworks Night’s new single ‘When We Fell Through The Ice’ / ‘Echo’s Swing’ is out now on 7” vinyl. Here are some snippets from the reviews that we’ve had in so far. You can read them in full in the press section.
‘Awesome.’ Time Out London
‘Beautifully delivered folk-noir…’ Musicweek
‘…Fireworks Night could very well build up a big cult following, and on the evidence of these two astonishing tracks, they deserve to.’ Contactmusic.com
The single will be available from the following record shops and, of course, over this website:
Rough Trade (Notting Hill, London) Rough Trade (Covent Garden, London) Pure Groove (London) Sister Ray (London) Jumbo Records (Leeds) Norman Records (Leeds)
We will keep this list updated as we hope to add more shops to it in the coming weeks.
Fireworks Night are also featured in this months edition of Flux magazine which is also out on Monday . We’d like to thank Jenny and Jean and everyone at Flux for what is a very nice piece. However, the band have asked us to draw your attention to one rather glaring misquote that occurs in this article. There is a song on their forthcoming album ‘As Fools We Are’ that is entitled ‘Dirty Acts Done Publicly’. It contains the line ‘Now we’re running for our lives / And we’re not sure just why.’ In the article these lyrics are translated thus: ‘Now we’re running for out life / And we’re not Chuckie’s wife’. This is, of course, wrong… Funny, but wrong… Hilarious, but wrong…
